Sports Development Lead

• Full Time (6 month, fixed term contract)
• £24,000 for initial 6 month fixed term contract

We are looking for someone in this new position of Sports Development Lead to take ownership and drive the successful launch, development and growth of our new state-of-the-art athletics track and activity trail.  You will build on the launch momentum by driving participation, partnerships and commercial opportunities, whilst leading through a soft launch in Sept 2026, ahead of a full public launch in Spring 2027.

Home to some of the most advanced technology available in Europe, these facilities present a unique opportunity to create a centre of excellence for sport, health and wellbeing.  We are looking for an ambitious self-starter with a strong hunter mentality who can build partnerships, secure commercial opportunities, drive marketing and engagement activity and establish a strong pipeline of users.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in business development, project delivery or growing sport, leisure, hospitality or community-based services, as well as building partnerships and securing commercial opportunities.  Your interpersonal skills will include strong stakeholder engagement, networking, and relationship building skills.  Your style will be process/procedure orientated, with an ability to work independently in an organised and proactive manner to deliver outcomes.   Health & Safety and risk management knowledge are key to this role.
