Yard Games FAQs
How long do I have to complete each section?
Each section must be complete in 20 minutes.
Lifting
For the Lifting section, you have 10 minutes per lift (Overhead Press and Deadlift).
Endurance
For the Endurance section, there is a buy in for running (Novice: 4 laps/800m | Pro: 6 laps/1200m) and rowing (Novice: 1000m | Pro: 1500m). You then collect points by completing your max distance on the SkiErg for the remaining time.
Metcon
You must complete the Metcon section in 20 minutes. Points will be awarded based on how quickly you complete the 6 exercises.
What time do I need to arrive?
We advise that you arrive at least half an hour before your starting time to allow time for registration, briefing and warm up. You will be told your start time in advance of the event.
If competing as a Pair, how do we split the course?
Lifting
There is a buy in weight that both people have to hit and after that either one of the team can attempt a heavier weight in both lifts.
Endurance
Both participants must do the run. They can only move onto the rowing once they both finished the run, which will be split 50-50. They can only move onto the SkiErg once they hit the target distance on the row and then they can split the SkiErg as they like.
Metcon
Pairs can split the exercises as they like.
Will there be time for me to warm up?
Please arrive at least half an hour before your start time to allow enough time for a warm up. There will be a dedicated warm up area with resistance bands and foam rollers.
