Register your interest and support below for the Bluecoat Sports expansion and to help Keep Horsham Healthy.
Bluecoat Sports at Christ’s Hospital is Horsham’s finest health and fitness club and there is now a unique opportunity to expand and enhance the health and fitness Club and offer track and field sporting facilities for Horsham and for Christ’s Hospital pupils.
The ambitious plan is to deliver new sports and fitness facilities on the Christ’s Hospital estate: a doubling of the size of the health and fitness facilities and studios; a competition-standard athletics track; a full-sized artificial rugby and football pitch; and a fitness adventure trail.
The need for additional external sports facilities at Horsham is critical as the athletics track at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre is in poor condition and will be closed by the Council in the next few years leaving a void for track-and-field events and training in the district.
The six-lane synthetic athletics track will incorporate all the field sports facilities for javelin, shot put, discus and hammer, pole vault, steeplechase and high/long/triple jump. The sports centre will also feature a 2.5km adventure fitness trail around the Christ’s Hospital grounds.
The existing Bluecoats Sports Centre building will be expanded with a new swimming pool, sauna and steam room and a doubling in the size of the indoor fitness centre to provide 250 exercise stations with additional fitness and spinning studios. The café and children’s crèche will be modernised and enlarged, whilst the squash courts and sports halls will also be refurbished.
