"We are delighted to be holding this event again at Bluecoats Sports Health and Fitness Club. Our fantastic 25m pool and fitness facilities make it ideal for us to hold this event.  We warmly welcome swimmers of all levels to participate.  Deciding to swim is a great chance for people to set new personal challenges for 2010 and in doing so they will feel a massive sense of achievement and get fit in the process.”

Last year we were top of the South East rankings for the number of swimmers participating and ranked 11th in the National League table.

Set yourself a personal challenge of completing the ultimate 5km or the 2.5km or 1.5km.  Alternatively, join up with family, friends and colleagues for the Team 5km where you can swim in a team consisting of 2 – 5 people covering 5Km (200 lengths of Bluecoats’ pool).

Everyone’s challenge is very much their own – but not only do their efforts benefit themselves but also the charities. Last year we raised £4,848.73 and this year we hope more people will swim and, in doing so, raise more valuable funds for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity, which provides nurses for people wishing to be nursed at home.”

Last year Swimathon raised almost £1.5 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation.
