Influenza A type H1N1 (“Swine ‘Flu”)

Catch it, Bin it, Kill it.

Dear Members and Guests,

We have been made aware that towards the end of term a small number of Christ’s Hospital pupils were suspected of contracting Swine Flu and were subsequently sent home.  The likelihood that any member of staff or any visitor came into contact with any of these pupils is extremely minimal and, due to the short incubation period of the Flu, any potential cases would have been evident at least one week ago.

As a result and following the widespread reports in the local and national press, we would like to advise all visitors that we are actively trying to reduce the spread of germs within the Club.

We are, however, limited by the actions of all our visitors and strongly recommend that everybody helps us by following the simple protocol set out by the Government:

Catch it, Bin it, Kill it.

Any person who has or develops symptoms of flu-like illness must stay at home and should keep their contact with others to a minimum for 7 days from the onset of symptoms.

You are advised to contact your GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647 for advice. Each case will be assessed and, if necessary, treatment will be provided.
