Introduction to Nordic Walking
Nordic Walking was first developed in Finland during the 1930’s, for cross country skiers to keep fit in the summer. It has now expanded into one of the fastest growing recreational fitness activities across the world.
Our courses offer an enhanced walking experience with the use of poles around the magnificent grounds of Christ's Hospital, to boost the quality of life, whilst emphasising on excellent technique and improved posture. In addition, Nordic Walking relieves tension in the neck and shoulders as well as burning twice the amount of calories as walking without poles.
Whatever age or fitness level, Nordic Walking provides a fantastic style of upper and lower body exercise, in a friendly and social atmosphere.
